Description
What is Pure L Tryptophan?
Pure l tryptophan is an essential amino acid; therefore, it is not synthesized by the body and must be obtained from the diet. L tryptophan is critical for the production of serotonin and melatonin, which help to support a positive mood, healthy sleep patterns, and proper immune system function.
L tryptophan pure is derived from corn dextrose fermentation. It is tested for contaminants, including EBT (peak E) and endotoxin. Niacinamide and pyridoxal 5’phosphate (activated B6) are synthetic. Ascorbyl palmitate is derived
from corn dextrose fermentation and palm oil.

Pure L Tryptophan Benefits
Regulates Mood
Pure l tryptophan is critical for the body to produce serotonin, which helps maintain a calm and relaxed mood. Many medications used to treat depression are aimed at increasing the amount of serotonin in the brain. The body uses L-tryptophan to create 5-hydroxytryptophan, or 5-HTP, which is then changed to serotonin. As a supplement, 5-HTP has been shown in small studies to treat depression. In addition, increased levels of serotonin can effectively treat premenstrual dysphoric disorder, or PMDD.
Weight Loss
Serotonin also has been linked to weight loss. It’s been found to shut off appetite and curb cravings. According to the Harvard Medical School, serotonin makes people feel full and helps them to decrease food intake. In fact, a Serotonin-Plus Weight Loss Program aims to increase the levels of serotonin to decrease cravings for carbohydrates, allowing participants to focus on eating proteins. Protein contributes to feelings of fullness.
Lowers Cholesterol
The body uses pure l tryptophan to produce niacin, a B vitamin that can help increase your good cholesterol and lower your bad cholesterol. Your body also uses niacin to turn carbohydrates into energy and to keep the digestive system, skin, hair and eyes healthy. L tryptophan pure requires the presence of iron, riboflavin and vitamin B-6 to produce niacin.
Growth and Development
L-tryptophan is essential for normal growth and development of infants. The amino acid plays a key role in brain maturation of the infant, as well as the neurobehavioral regulations of food intake, satiation and sleep-wake-rhythm, according to the National Institutes of Health.
