What is Oxfendazole?

Oxfendazole is a member of the class of benzimidazoles that is fenbendazole in which the sulfur has been oxidised to the corresponding sulfoxide. It has a role as an antinematodal drug. It is a sulfoxide, a member of benzimidazoles and a carbamate ester. It derives from a fenbendazole. Benzimidazole antihelminthic protects livestock from roundworm. strongyles, and pinworn.

Oxfendazole Uses

a. Oxfendazole, the sulfoxide form of benthiamidazole, is a benzimidazole anthelmintic. It can destroy the microtubule structure of the epithelial cells of gastrointestinal worms and inhibit the worms from taking up glucose from the intestinal tract.

b. Oxfendazole is used to treat and control adults and larvae of the gastrointestinal tract. It has a good effect on the treatment of roundworms and lung worms in pigs, cattle and sheep, including Ostertagia and Haemonchus. , Trichostrongylus, Nematodirus, Cooperia, Capillaria, Oesophagostomum, Chabertia, Trichuris, and Dictyocaulus…etc.
