Preparation and production of Indole

Indole and its homologues can be synthesized by a variety of methods, among which the Fischer synthesis method is the most common. It is made by using ketone or aldehyde aromatic hydrazone under acidic conditions to undergo a rearrangement reaction. In this reaction, the ketone used must have a primary carbon atom connected to the carbonyl group to obtain indole. Simple preparation method: It can be obtained from the 220℃～260℃ distillate of coal tar, or by reducing isatin with zinc powder.
