Indole, as a typical N-heterocyclic aromatic compound, is widespread in natural environment. A growing number of researches have proved that indole is a new interspecies and interkingdom signal molecule with certain biological activities. Indole could regulate virulence, biofilm formation, antibiotic tolerance and quorum sensing of bacteria. Indole not only modulates plant growth and defense system, but also affects intestinal inflammation, oxidative stress and hormone secretion in animals. Hence indole plays important roles in diverse aspects such as microbial metabolism, human health and plant growth, holding important significance both in biology and ecology.
Preparation and production of Indole
Indole and its homologues can be synthesized by a variety of methods, among which the Fischer synthesis method is the most common. It is made by using ketone or aldehyde aromatic hydrazone under acidic conditions to undergo a rearrangement reaction. In this reaction, the ketone used must have a primary carbon atom connected to the carbonyl group to obtain indole. Simple preparation method: It can be obtained from the 220℃~260℃ distillate of coal tar, or by reducing isatin with zinc powder.
Spice use of Indole
Natural products are widely contained in essential oils such as bitter orange oil, sweet orange oil, lemon oil, white lemon oil, citrus oil, grapefruit peel oil, jasmine oil, etc., and can be widely used in jasmine, lilac, orange blossom, gardenia, honeysuckle , Lotus, narcissus, ylang-ylang, grass orchid, white orchid and other floral fragrances. A very small amount can be used in flavors such as chocolate, raspberry, strawberry, bitter orange, coffee, nuts, cheese, grape and fruity compounds.
What we need to pay attention to
1.In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.
2.Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves and eye/face protection.
3.In case of accident or if you feel unwell, seek medical advice immediately (show the lable where possible).
4.This material and/or its container must be disposed of as hazardous waste.
5.Avoid release to the environment. Refer to special instructions/Safety data sheets.
Where could you find the high quality Indole?
There are natural Indole and chemical Indole as we know.
We could offer both natural Indole and Chemical Indole so far. Generally speaking, there are more and more people prefer to the natural materials, but it is rare. Then chemical Indole materials have been dominated the market in past years.
